As a change agent, Laura LaChance couples a strong, diligent voice with robust passion to spur changes for a diverse range of youth in Ontario and beyond. Laura seeks to share the social justice messages of meaningful inclusive education and employment, their importance, and the deep meaning they hold for students, families, and communities.
Through attending meetings, liaising with community members, and remaining involved with local, provincial and national leadership committees and organizations, Laura has proved herself a high achiever. A member of multiple executive and education advisory committees, Laura thumbprints initiatives in program development and inclusion in Ontario schools. She maintains a strong grasp of legislative procedures and education sector knowledge, while initiating and facilitating projects to raise awareness and incite action leading to meaningful employment for youth with disabilities. Laura has a particular interest in visioning processes and team building.
Furthermore, as a practicing Dental Hygienist for over 30 years, Laura has applied her talents in public speaking, outreach, and advocacy to enhance oral and public health initiatives surrounding youth and adults with special needs. Previously worked at a Dentist Office in Collingwood for many years. As a business owner with an inspiring track record of community involvement, Laura continues to seek out opportunities to mentor while promoting advances in oral health.
